Welcome to the Saraland Fire-Rescue Department

Mission Statement:  The primary mission of the Saraland Fire-Rescue Department is to provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants and visitors of the City of Saraland from the adverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by either man or nature.

Message from the Chief

The Saraland Fire Department started out as a Volunteer Department when the City incorporated in 1957. As the City grew there became a need for a paid professional department. In January of 1968 Glyn Stevens became the first professional paid firefighter in the City of Saraland. In 1975, the need for emergency medical care in America was placed on the shoulders of Fire Departments nationwide. The City fathers had the foresight to provide paramedic services to our citizens making Saraland a step above the rest.  For over 40 years, we have worked diligently to serve the needs of the City.  We've been successful in keeping up with the changes made in equipment and technology allowing us to provide the highest quality of service.  Please feel free to contact me or any member of the Fire Department if we can help you in any way.
