Saraland Public Library

The Saraland Library is located at 111 Saraland Loop between Shelton Beach and Celeste Road.  Our library is a modern facility with a number of resources available, providing for a comprehensive collection of reference, audio, visual and reading materials.  Saraland Public Library is a contractual affiliate of the Mobile Public Library.  For additional information, you can visit the Mobile Public Library home page at www.mplonline.org.

In addition to these monthly programs, the library hosts a Summer Reading Program beginning every June, which features six weeks of storytimes, movies, and special events.  Additional activities at surrounding Mobile Public Library facilities can be found by visiting the current program calendar. Library cards can be obtained by filling out an application at the checkout desk of the Saraland Public Library or at any other Mobile Public Library location, including the Bookmobile.  The library offers a variety of items for check out, including books, audio books, movies and educational/informational programs on DVD and video.  Music CDs are also available for checkout from other branches upon request.  Items may be borrowed from libraries outside of our system via interlibrary loan, with payment of a two dollar mailing fee.

Books, books on tape, and books on CD can be checked out for a loan period of 21 days.  As long as no one is waiting on the item, you may renew items in person, by phone, or by accessing your library account through our library homepage (www.mplonline.org).   Late fines are .30 cents a day with a maximum accumulated library fine of $7.00 per item.  Rental materials, which are a charge of one dollar ($1), and can be checked out for a one week period, such as movies, cannot be renewed, but may be re-rented if no one is waiting to rent them.

The Saraland Library, as well as all other Mobile Public Library facilities, are handicapped accessible and provide a variety of materials and services including:
